KYC & Payment Verification Policy
Last updated: 29 Jul 2026
To pay out royalties safely and to comply with Indian financial regulations, SapneDigital verifies the identity and payout details of every artist before releasing funds. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we protect it.
1. Why KYC is required
Know Your Customer (KYC) checks help us confirm that payouts reach the rightful artist, prevent fraud and impersonation, and meet our obligations under applicable Indian law. Payouts cannot be processed until your KYC and payout details are verified.
2. What we collect
- Identity: your legal name, PAN (Permanent Account Number) and Aadhaar number with document images. PAN is required for royalty payouts and tax reporting under the Income Tax Act; Aadhaar confirms the payout reaches the rightful artist. Aadhaar numbers are stored encrypted and only the last 4 digits are ever displayed.
- Payout details: bank account number and IFSC, or a verified UPI ID, in the artist's own name.
- Contact: a verified email and mobile number.
- Where required, we may request additional proof (a government ID or a bank document) to resolve a name or account mismatch.
3. Payment / account verification
- Payout details must match your registered identity. Payouts to third-party accounts are not permitted.
- We may run a penny-drop or name-match check on your bank/UPI details before the first payout.
- If details fail verification, the payout is held and we will contact you to correct them.
4. Minimum balance & timelines
Payouts are available once your balance reaches ₹500 and your KYC is verified. Verified payout requests are typically processed within 5-7 working days. See our Withdrawal & Payout Policy for full details.
5. How we protect your data
KYC information is used only for verification, payouts and legal compliance. It is stored securely and is not sold. Handling is governed by our Privacy Policy.
6. Refusal & holds
We may delay or refuse a payout where identity cannot be verified, where details are inconsistent, or where fraud or a rights dispute is suspected, until the matter is resolved.
