How to Upload Your Song on JioSaavn, Gaana and Hungama (2026 Guide)

Step-by-step guide for Indian artists to release songs on JioSaavn, Gaana and Hungama: files, metadata, distributor upload, claiming your profile, and what happened to Wynk Music.

By the SapneDigital team · 19 Oct 2026 · 2 min read
Quick answer: You cannot upload a song to JioSaavn or Gaana directly as an individual artist. You upload once to a digital distributor, which delivers it to JioSaavn, Gaana, Hungama, Spotify, Apple Music and other stores together. After the song is live, claim your profile on JioSaavn for Artists to get stats and a verified page. Note: Wynk Music was shut down by Airtel in late 2024, so it is no longer a store you can release on.

For Indian listeners, JioSaavn and Gaana are still among the most used music apps, especially for Hindi, Bhojpuri, Punjabi and regional songs. Getting your music there is simple once you know the path. This guide covers how to upload, how long it takes, what the stores check, and how to set up your artist profile.

Step 1: Prepare your release

  • Audio: a final mastered WAV file (16-bit or 24-bit, 44.1 kHz or higher).
  • Cover art: a 3000 x 3000 px square image with no blur, no website links, no phone numbers and no logos of stores. See our cover art requirements guide.
  • Metadata: song title, artist name spelled exactly the same every time, singer, lyricist and composer names, language and genre. Avoid the common metadata mistakes.
  • Rights: make sure you own or have licensed the lyrics, music and beat.

Step 2: Upload through a distributor

  1. Create a SapneDigital account and pick a plan.
  2. Upload your audio, cover art and details.
  3. Select the stores. JioSaavn, Gaana, Hungama, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music and Instagram/Facebook are all included, out of 160+ stores.
  4. Choose a release date at least two days ahead, so stores have time to process it.
  5. Submit. Your release is checked for audio, artwork and metadata quality before delivery.

Step 3: Claim your artist profile

JioSaavn: after the song is live, use JioSaavn for Artists to claim your profile. You get your artist picture, bio and listener stats.

Spotify: claim your profile on Spotify for Artists to get the verified badge, add a picture and pitch future songs to editorial playlists. Read how to release a song on Spotify from India.

Gaana and Hungama: your artist page is created automatically from your release metadata, which is why consistent spelling of your name matters.

What happened to Wynk Music?

Airtel announced in 2024 that it was shutting down Wynk Music and shifting its users to Apple Music offers. Wynk is therefore no longer a destination for new releases. If an old guide tells you to "upload on Wynk", deliver to Apple Music, JioSaavn and Spotify instead, which is where those listeners went.

Caller tunes

Your song can also be set as a caller tune (CRBT) on Jio, Airtel and Vi through distribution. Read our caller tune guide in Hindi.
